Senzing Web Inspector Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes how Senzing, Inc. ("Senzing," "we," "us," or "our") processes personal information in connection with the Senzing Web Inspector, a hosted, read-only evaluation application that lets users explore entity-resolution results over sample datasets (the "Web Inspector"). It supplements, and should be read together with, the Senzing Privacy Notice available at senzing.com. To the extent this Notice and the general Senzing Privacy Notice conflict with respect to the Web Inspector, this Notice controls.

The Web Inspector is intended for business and professional use to evaluate Senzing's software. It is not directed to individuals acting for personal, family, or household purposes.

1. Personal information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information in connection with the Web Inspector:

• Account and authentication data, such as the email address you use to create an account and the one-time codes used to sign you in. Account login is managed by our authentication provider, which sends a one-time code to your email address.
• Usage and device data, such as pages and features you view, actions you take within the Web Inspector, access times, and standard device and log data (for example, browser type, operating system, and IP address), collected through our product-analytics provider and similar technologies.
• Communications data, such as messages you send us, including feedback and support requests.
• Marketing data, such as your preferences for receiving our communications and your engagement with them.
• Cookies and similar technologies. We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies in the Web Inspector. For more information, see our Cookie Notice.

2. Personal information in demonstration data

The Web Inspector displays the results of entity resolution performed over sample datasets. These datasets include synthetic data and may also include publicly available, real-world data (such as the Senzing CORD dataset) that contains personal information — for example, names, dates of birth, addresses, contact details, and identification numbers — relating to individuals who are not users of the Web Inspector.

We act as the controller of this personal information and process it solely to demonstrate the capabilities of our software. We do not use it to make any decision about, to contact, or to otherwise take any action affecting, these individuals. Individuals whose personal information appears in these datasets may exercise the rights described in this Notice by contacting us at privacy@senzing.com.

3. How we use personal information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

• Service delivery and operations — to provide, operate, secure, and support the Web Inspector, including to authenticate you and to communicate with you about the Web Inspector.
• Analytics and improvement — to understand how the Web Inspector is used and to improve it and our other products and services.
• Marketing — to send you communications about Senzing products and services. When you register, we may send you a welcome email and, unless you opt out (or, where required, unless you have opted in), subsequent communications. You may opt out at any time as described in Section 4.
• Demonstration — to display entity-resolution results over the sample datasets described in Section 2.
• Compliance and protection — to comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect our and others' rights, safety, and property.

4. Your marketing choices

You may opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in the email or by contacting us at marketing@senzing.com. Where applicable law requires your prior consent to marketing communications, we will send them only where you have opted in, and you may withdraw that consent at any time. Opting out of marketing does not affect service-related or other non-marketing messages.

5. How we share personal information

We share personal information with the following categories of recipients:

• Service providers and sub-processors — including our authentication provider (WorkOS), our product-analytics provider (PostHog), our customer-relationship and email provider (HubSpot), and our internal collaboration tools, each of which processes personal information on our behalf.
• Affiliates and professional advisors — our corporate group and our advisers, where necessary.
• Authorities and others — law enforcement, regulators, and others where we believe in good faith it is necessary or appropriate for the compliance and protection purposes above.
• Business transferees — counterparties in an actual or prospective corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

6. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice, including to operate the Web Inspector, to satisfy legal and accounting requirements, and to establish or defend legal claims, after which we delete or anonymize it.

7. International data transfer

Senzing is headquartered in the United States and uses service providers in other countries. Your personal information may be transferred to, and processed in, the United States and other locations. Where we transfer personal information from Europe to a country that has not received an adequacy decision, we rely on an appropriate safeguard (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses) or an applicable derogation. You may contact us for further information on the mechanism used.

8. Notice to European users — our legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases for processing are as follows:

• Service delivery and operations — Contractual Necessity and our Legitimate Interests in operating and securing the Web Inspector.
• Analytics and improvement — Legitimate Interests in understanding and improving the Web Inspector, and Consent where required for optional cookies.
• Marketing — Legitimate Interests, and Consent where required by applicable law.
• Demonstration data (real-world sample datasets) — Legitimate Interests. We have a legitimate interest in demonstrating the capabilities of our entity-resolution software on realistic data. We limit this processing to display within the Web Inspector, do not use it to make or support any decision affecting the individuals concerned, and have weighed this interest against those individuals' interests, rights, and freedoms.
• Compliance and protection — Compliance with Law and, where that does not apply, our Legitimate Interests in protecting our rights and complying with legal process.

9. Automated decision-making and profiling

The Web Inspector performs entity resolution, which may constitute profiling within the meaning of the GDPR. We do not, however, engage in automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning any individual. We will let you know if that changes by updating this Notice.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, to portability, and to withdraw consent. This includes individuals whose personal information appears in the demonstration datasets described in Section 2. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@senzing.com. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

11. Changes to this Notice and how to contact us

We may modify this Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date above and posting the updated Notice. You can contact us regarding this Notice at privacy@senzing.com.
